SUPERB RARE GEORGIAN 18thC ANTIQUE POCKET TRAVELLING PICNIC SILVER CORKSCREW
This is a stunning travelling or pocket straight pull silver corkscrew with ribbed and banded decoration. Made by Joseph Willmore in circa 1797, there is only his makers mark stamped on the end of the cover which is JW with a pellet, his very first registered mark from 1797. The condition overall is very good and with no damage to the steel worm. The handle has a tiny shrinkage split (see photo 6). The silver threaded cover is in very fine condition with a lovely patina. Dimensions are 85mm x 53mm. This corkscrew has only age related wear commensurate for a silver object over 200 years old. Please study the photos which form part of the description. Would make a lovely addition to any corkscrew collection. This item is in the category "Antiques\Silver\Solid Silver\Cutlery". The seller is "anlincs" and is located in this country: GB.
