Superb original large Victorian brass gas lamp with glass shade. A wonderful and rare solid brass desk light, highly detailed and intricate, with an integrated ink well. Topped with a stunning original Art Deco satin glass shade in green. Originally a gas lamp, has been converted to electricity probably around the 1930s.

All in excellent antique condition. A bold and striking unique statement piece. The large brass base and column is extremely solid and heavy. Complete with original ceramic ink well pot.

The heavyweight satin glass shade is also in excellent condition with no chips or cracks, just a few small nibbles around the fitting rim. Recently rewired with new black silk braided cable and an earth to comply with modern electrical standards. Takes standard BC bayonet bulb. 25cm wide at the base. The glass shade is approx 21cm wide.
